If your roses seem tired and thirsty upon arrival, it’s normal. Follow these simple steps to help them thrive:
Wear gloves to protect from thorns and stains. Get your roses into water quickly, leaving the cardboard sleeve on for 4 to 8 hours. Remove all packaging and inspect them.
Use clean containers filled with cool water, adding flower food if available. Trim stems diagonally under running water, and place them in the container.
Let them hydrate for 4 to 12 hours. If any flowers droop, re-cut the stems.
Keep roses in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and drafts. Change the water every 24 to 48 hours.
Remove any brown or discolored guard petals after taking off the cardboard sleeve. Warmth speeds up blooming; cool environments slow it down.
Enjoy your beautiful roses and keep them hydrated.
